2025/6 CHARITIES
Here are the charities the QCPA are supporting this year:
Pupils’ Charity Choice
Smart Works was launched in 2013 to help empower unemployed women with the clothes, coaching and confidence they need to succeed at their job interview and transform their lives.
We opened our first centre in Islington in 2013. Since then, we’ve grown to meet the need, opening 11 more centres across England and Scotland. Women are referred to us from job centres, refuges, the prison system, homeless shelters and mental health charities, among other organisations. We’re proud that we’ve supported more than 40,000 women to date, but we know there are thousands more that need our help.
In 2017, we were recognised as the Social Action Charity of the Year at the Charity Awards and in 2024 we became Google’s Charity of the Year.
Parents’ Charity Choice
The Marylebone Project, based in Central London, provides a life-changing service for women to overcome homelessness. We are the largest and longest-running centre of its kind in the UK – with over 90 years of experience. We provide hostel accommodation, support services, emergency beds and re-settlement services across our two buildings.
We believe in providing a safe, supportive environment for women to rebuild trust, learn to re-engage with society and start to rebuild their lives with the support of our all-encompassing service provision. Our clients face a variety of challenges including Domestic abuse, Human trafficking, Alcohol and drug misuse, Unemployment, Loneliness, Disability and Mental health, but whatever their story, we aim to empower them to overcome homelessness and live independent, full lives.
Queen’s College Charity Choice
The Queen’s Bursary Fund provides full and partial bursaries to enable pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to benefit from a Queen’s education. Our ambitious goal is to have 10% of pupils receiving a bursary annually. The Queen’s Bursary Fund is also used to support existing members of our community who suffer financial hardship, for example, helping more than 50 families during the coronavirus pandemic.
